My parents live in the mountains southwest of Big Lake and driving to their house from the airport you go from baking heat and Saguaro cacti everywhere to temperatures that can be 30 degrees cooler and forests filled with Ponderosa and Juniper. Arizona always surprises me with how much it changes in just an hour or two on the road. My parents live in the mountains southwest of Big Lake and driving to their house from the airport you go from baking heat and Saguaro cacti everywhere to temperatures that can be 30 degrees cooler and forests filled with Ponderosa and Juniper. Lots to see here, that’s for sure!
